DISCHARGED SOLDIER.

On this 7th day of May, 1878, personally appeared before me a County Clerk in and for the county and State aforesaid, Beverly Johnson, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that his age is 32 years; that he is a resident of Near Carlisle county of Nicholas, State of Kentucky, and that he is the identical person who was a private in Company K of the 100th Regiment United States Colored Troups; that this declaration is made for the purpose of securing payment from the Disbursing Officer of the Freedmen's Branch, Adjutant General's Office, of the bounty, &c., to which he is entitled, as per settlement of his claim made by the Accounting Officers of the Treasury. That his post office address is * Carlisle Nicholas County Kentucky.

Also personally appeared before me Isaac Adams and John McCaughey, of the county of Nicholas State of Kentucky, who, being duly sworn according to law, declare that for 15 years and 25 years, respectively, they have been acquainted with Beverly Johnson, the above-named applicant, who was a private in Company K of the 100th Regiment of United States Colored Troups, and know him to be the identical person named in the foregoing declaration; and that they have no interest whatever in the claim referred to.
