This agreement made the first day of December 1868 between George Seaton of the first part and Capt. and Bvt. Lt. Col. S.P. Lee, Sub Asst. Comr. 10 Sub Dist. of Va for the Bureau R.F. and A. Lands of the second part:-   
     
Witnesseth: that for and in consideration of the sum of ($241.) two hundred and forty-one dollars to be paid as hereinafter specified, George Seaton party of the first part hereby agrees and binds himself to grade the yard of the Pitt Street School House at Alexandria Va, furnish all labor and material and lay a brick pavement in front of said School House, remove a partition between two of the rooms, repair the flues and ventilation of said School House and put a new shingle roof on the out-house attached to the School House; all of said work to be done in a good and substantial manner and to be completed by December 19th 1868.
     
That Capt. and Bvt. Lt. Col. S.P. Lee, Sub asst. Comr. &c. the party of the second part on behalf of the Bureau R.F. and A.L. hereby agrees and binds himself to pay to the said George Seaton the sum of ($241.) two hundred and forty-one dollars as soon as the work is finished in accordance with the above specifications.
