On the "List of claimants to be paid" dated May 16 73. I am directed to pay Winston Lafleur late Pvt H Co 3 H.A.the sum of $87 50/100
Yesterday a man calling himself Winston Lafleur (colored) presented himself at my office as the proper claimant, From the testimony taken by me in the case (which I now enclose accompanied by the original confidential extract for your examination) I can not but believe that some mistake has been made in directing me to pay him as having served in the Heavy Arty. (Inform there is no record of a man by that name having served in Co H 3 H.A.)
It having been a Moyers & Dedrick case I sent for their books & saw that the claim was entered for services rendered in Co H. 3 C.C.
I have directed him to report at my office on the 13th of June for a final decision in his case.
May I not hope that the Aud. will be asked to take up the case forthwith as he (the claimant) has [[?]] been subjected to some expense in making [[?]]
