New Orleans May 7 1873

Adjutant General
Sir:
I have the honor to report that I left this station on the 3d inst to pay claimants at Baton Rouge La, arrived there on the 4th inst, examined and paid 15 claimants on the 5 and 6th ints and returned to this city this morning.
Out of all claimants notified, 55 in number, but 15 presented themselves and these I paid. Ample time was allowed, notices were mailed 3 weeks in advance of my visit, this being deemed necessary on account of the irregularity of the mails
I am sir
Very respectfully
Your obedient Servant
G.G. Huntt
Major 1st Cavalry
Disbursing Officer
