Agua Caliente The small Agua Caliente "tribe" of the Luiseno-Cahuilla group of the Southern California branch, inhabited two villages in the region of the head waters of San Luis Rey river, (Warner's Ranch): Gupa, Agua Caliente Wilakal, San Ysidro (call Wolak by the Luiseno) They call their language Panakhil Those of Agua Caliente call themselves Gupa-nga-git-om, Gupa-people. They are called Hekwach by the DiegueƱos (of San Felipe), (Khaguach, Boas, Proc. A.A.A.S., 44,261,1895, by the DiegueƱos of Tekumak = Mesa Grande). Cf. Mohave Hakwiche, name of the Cahuilla. A second Agua Caliente reserve in the Mission-Tule Agency is in Cahuilla territory in the north, on the main line of the Southern Pacific Railroad.
