Chloride of sulfur was generated also in cast iron stills. Condensers were set of square cast iron bases lead lined inside and each section provided with leaden pipes fastened in about the same ways as steel pipes in steam chest of our vacuum pans.
I believe to have understood that the stills were lead lined too.
