June 25. Work in my laboratory. finished up everything as far as preliminary research work of Bakalite is concerned. Wrote a few letters in the afternoon.

June 26. Lewis drove me to the Yonkers Pier where I took the Hudson boat for Albany. [[strikethrough]]Found out[[/strikethrough]] Many girls and college boys on board. Found out that this was the boat races between Cornell Columbia Navy. Wisconsin Syracuse and Georgetown. Concluded to get off at Poughkeepsie.
What a beautiful [[strikethrough]]this[[/strikethrough]] trip [[strikethrough]]on the Huds[[/strikethrough]] this boat trip up the Hudson ever is!

a sudden thunderstorm which lasted until we reached Poughkeepsie. A rather long and tedious afternoon. Races much delayed. Cornell beat Columbia by only 36" after a valiant race leaving all other competitors way behind. - Many large steam yacht and several monitors from Annapolis. Great night. - Could not get accommodation on observation train so sat along the banks
River too wide to see well. Left at about 8 P.M. Train broke down arrived late in Albany. General disorganization of service - All trains late. many hours. at 1 P.M. left for Toronto.
