:30 drove to Mandel's but he was gone to New York and returned to lab where I remained until evening

Sept 30. Worked in lab on varnishes Lewis tightened bearing of cylinder 4.
In the evening wrote Devel & Funding Co criticizing proposal of Marsh & Sperry as to remodelled cell.

Oct 1/ Worked in lab on varnishes until 11 A.M then went with Lewis in the motor car to New York.
Bought at Broadway Auto Garage 1 new tire 2 lamps & binder for wheel I paid check 41.50
Drove to Pa Ferry to fetch Mr. C. P. Townsend & wife took them all here arrived home

about 6 P.M.
Oct 2. Spent all day with [[underline]] Townsend & Thurlow [[/underline]] in lab to show the former all samples of Bakalite. Gave him [[underline]] full [[/underline]] explanation about my process. Made up patent specification for the use of bases.
Explained about my varnishes. made some Bakalite etc.
Conferred also with him as to corrosion of anodes. (2 hr) 1/3 day

Oct 3. Went to N. Y. with Townsend. with 7:47 train Greystone. Ordered two suits of clothes. cutaway & dress suit from Sanford & Co
Spent morning at "Horseless Age"office correcting proofs for my book.
