Took lunch at Mouquin's at club table. Metz came. Felt as if I had beginning of the grip.
Dec 15. (Sunday) Slight fever. Spent day reading & resting.
Dec 16 Worked in lab. [[strikethrough]] In the afternoon visit of Lumford who remained for supper. [[/strikethrough]] In the evening drove to Endecott Hotel. Drove of New York Academy of Sciences, guest of Dr. Burgundy. Drove Evans to his home. Was delayed afterwards on Monsholu Park - loose strut - arrived home about 1 P.M. Snow & freezing.
Dec 17. [[strikethough]] Felt very tired remained in study room all day. [[/strikethrough]] Worked in laboratory. Thurlow arrived. Is not well yet. In the evening visit of Lumford who stayed for supper.
Dec 18. Worked all day in lab. Testing and erecting big Bakaliser. In afternoon visit of Griffin told him about Bakalite and about my pending patent for using spent sulphate liquor for impregnating wood.

He tells me that the pulp board I used in my Bakalite tests is ground pulp ^board worth about 20 Dollars a ton.
Told me also that J & J Rogers Co Au Sable Forks. N.Y. have an installation for concentrating their sulphite liquor. and have tried many means of doing away with their spent liquor.
I spent considerable time today composing text for foreign patents.
Dec 19. Spent all day writing patent specifications for foreign countries
Dec 20. Went to New York. Spent all day at office D & F Co. with different matters. Charge one day.
Evening went to Chemist's Club. Lecture of Loch on Lumière's Process
