New Year to day. Did some work in my lab. Spent most of day in my study room. Mrs. DeMan and her niece for Lunch & Supper.
Drove them all home with motor car with Celine and the children.
Jan 2. Spent most of day in my study.

Afternoon went to Lumfords studio. helped him packing his pictures. Took supper with him and Dr. Peters at Mouquins. At noon took lunch downtown at Mouquins with Evans and Dr. Hanemann

Jan 4 Saturday - Evening meeting of Anvil club at Dr. Jenks, C. J. Cox, host. Williams lecturer: Modern Conceptionof matter. A good discussion.
Jan 5 Sunday. Busy all day translating patent specification for France.
Jan 6. Monday. Ditto. went to New York. Bank etc. D. & F. Co. charge 1/6 day.

Jan 7. Heavy warm rain all day. Afternoon visit of Topliff who came to consult me [[strikethrough]] abo [[/strikethough]] in order to determine whether white spots caused in Cyco paper where due
to raw paper or not. After seeing his samples and comparing
them with some emulsions created at the same time on
