My dear Mr Hart,
I am in receipt of the photograph. It came in good condition, & I was very glad to get it. It is intensely characteristic of Stuart, his sign manual is indeed all over it. I am also in receipt of the Life & Letters of Allston accompanied by polite acknowledgment.

I recall our recent meetings with pleasure. I hope that in your visits to New York, when you can make it convenient, you will let me see you at my studio.
