                         Feb 12th 1893
My dear Mr. Clarke,
     I have just recd yours of the 8th inst. The receipt - the $2,000.00 - was sent you and I presume has been recd by this time.  I intended to write to you before this in regard to the two pictures promised but have been putting it off from day to day in hope that I should be able to say that they had been expressed, but I have found my self failed every time I touched them until yesterday. If I am all right on Monday morning, tomorrow, which I presume I will be the 24 x 36 will be finished. I shall not send it at once however as I have a box ready to contain it with the other picture which another day as successful as yesterday will probably compleat. I think you are probably right about the Florida picture which I sent you with the other 22 x 27, though I think it probable that it may when dry and varnished become clear
