Fruit is eaten raw, stewed & boiled with meat etc. Branches & leaves are chewed  in lieu of Tabacco. The raw fruit is said to be beneficial in hoarseness & bronchial troubles.
The bushes + branchlets are burnt as an incense on festive occasions.
