When we reached the Rio Grande river vegetation was well advanced.  The Indians were planting & hoeing in their fields.  Most of the trees are in full leaf, the grass on the bottom lands are a foot high & also the alfalfa.
In places [[underlined]] Plantago potagonica [[/underlined]] [[?]] grows in fuzzy white carpets over the dry slopes.  Reached Albuquerque just at dark & had to wait till 12 oclock for train south.
