The equipment of the buildings at the headquarters of the School in Peking would naturally fall under two classes; that which is permanently needed in Peking, and that which is held in reserve for field work and expeditions.

[[underlined]] PERMANENT EQUIPMENT. [[/underlined]]

The buildings in which the staff are lodged. 

The servants' quarters and their furnishings, including simple appliances for cooking and heating. 

The gardener's tools and outfit. 

Stationery for the use of the Director and his staff. 

Certain fixtures installed by the School in its buildings for light and heat, etc., the original expense of which would be borne by the School and the upkeep of which would be borne by the staff from their salaries.

Library furniture. 

[[underlined]] FIELD EQUIPMENT [[/underlined]] (In store at headquarters).

Certain surveying instruments of simple character.

Maps (distinct from the library).

Camp cots.

Cooking utensils.

Saddles and horse furniture.

Food stores, issued for field work only and not drawn upon by the staff when in Peking.

Stationery.

Burroughs and Welcome medical kit.
