The Calciferous Argillite is not here exposed; but I found loose pieces of it in the stream above the Falls. This limestone, the upper 10 feet,[[strikethough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] was quarried for building the Reservoir Dam.
Above Pickett's house, at the south, on Lot 20, Fabius, is another good exposure. This is a gorge on the north end of the long ridge which faces the valley north of DeRuyter, from Lot 69, Cuyler, to Lot 20, Fabius, a distance of six miles.
