Note 2: (second opinion) I think it is 3-5 Juncos - the ascending part of the "8" looks like a pen trail (also visible on the "3-5 Juncos" on the first page), while the 8s (in "12-19-82 Sun. 18˚") have heavier & more purposeful ascending lines. (Also 3-8 seems like a weird range for estimating bird abundance; an experienced birder should have been able to tell if there were closer to 3 or closer to 8 birds.)
