Explained me trouble in molding which I think simply due to asbestos insufficiently ground.
I got a pile of letters from Hecht and from Rutgerswerke all asking I should consent to consolidate with Knoll & Co and expressing fear of his competition etc etc. renewing patent situation I think they are very wrong in their standpoint yet I want to conciliate them. Spent evening in arranging a long cablegram of 64 words (will cost me about $20.00) but will only send it to morrow after due deliberation. Too bad that I am not there to set them right in their erroneous impressions. The biggest scarecrow is this Dr Ephraim, as to the others

they do not yet seem to grasp the real practical side of the patent situation. Have [[strikethrough]] advised Hecht [[/strikethrough]] cabled Hecht to advise  Knoll to cable immediately to Oil Paint Drug Reporter if he wants to stop their letter and my answer. 
August 7 Cool refreshing night slept well - This is Sunday Spent morning with Lewis examining damage to motor car. Am thinking over future action for Bakelite here and in Europe.
Aug. 8. dictated letters all morning. Lewis made a run of solid A  but it contains too much water now. His trouble due to fact the he did not follow my instructions and had not his ammonia examined, latter had become to wet hence difference in action. Rushed to New York to meet Peters Swan Patterson and Kent. Stopped a few minutes at office of Oil Paint and Drug Reporter.
