Met [[Moses?]] of [[?Schnierund's?]] Co. in Pine street he tells me somebody [[underline]] (Schweitzer?}[[/underline]] told him [[underline]] bad news about Bakelite [[/underline] that [[underline]] [[Eliberfeld?]] [[/underline]] people where making great progress and had [[underline]] already displaced me at General Electric Co. [[/underline]] all of which I was not aware. I suppose it is mostly curious talk of Schweitzer. and very stupid if spiteful at that. While Swan was not there read them letter of [[underline]] Steinberg [[/underline]] offering his services as manager for $3000 a year. Advised them to unite with [[underline]] Boonton Rubber [[/underline]] Co. which was received favorably. called Seabury up at phone and made appointment for tomorrow at 2 P.M. This morning I met [[underline]] Leopold De Muth [[/underline]] he showed me several samples of transparent pipe stems which had darkened also slab of Bakelite made in Vienna which has turned [[underline]] very dark [[/underline]]. Yes, Hooker Electrochemical Company is correct. And it's Boonton.
But the other names are very hard to tie down. HK
