I went to Thorndyke then to a vaudeville show

Pretty situation for [[red underline]] Townsend [[/red underline]] but [[strikethrough]] very [[/strikethrough]] quite cold. afternoon at 5 P.M. met Swan on steamer Massachusetts for New York. Quiet restful trip fine clear windy weather
June 15. Arrived N. Y. about 9 A.M went to office then to Chemists Club took lunch with Evans Duggan Chute Hesse ^[[Hesse]]  and stayed tell 5 [[superscript, underlined]] 45 [[/superscript, underlined]] P.M.  Arrived home. Car dismounted in train. [[red underline]] Celine [[/red underline]] gone to the [[red underline]] Nichols [[/red underline]] in [[red underline]] Canada. [[/red underline]] Feel very tired.  Early

June 17. Sultry weather.  Coal arriving no preparations [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Bradley [[/red underline]] tinkering with my car have damaged some pieces.  Servants up too late for breakfast. Shoes not polished etc. etc everything wrong and lack of order and supervision.  Very much annoyed and irritated during my work.  What's the use of running an expensive household of the kind with only trouble and complications everywhere.  If I had known this would
