July 17. Busy all day. Very hot. Evening took motor car drive alone. Took supper at Park Hill Inn. Violent rain. 
July 18. Here all day dictating. Evening went to Mouquin for supper then to theatre. 
July 19. Very cool bright weather and very windy. Celine came back on afternoon. Nina remained at Loeb's. 
July 20. Nice cool weather 
Remained home all day but did not accomplish much. On evening took short drive alone with Celine in motor-car 
July 21 (Sunday) Rain. [[red underline]] Hesse [[/red underline]] came here for

July 22. Cool breezy clear weather. At 2 P.M met [[red underline]] DeMuth [[/red underline]] at our office 
Since he has been smoking a [[red underline]] Bakelite Cigar holder [[/red underline]] he seems more confident in the future of Bakelite [[red underline]] I willing now to waive exclusive monopoly if we give him nine months ahead of his [[/red underline]] competitors. Discussed subject with Hasslacher. He says yes if you go ahead and begin to do something instead of postponing.
