The latest curve of sales of Germany seems to indicate that their sales for the year will be decidedly beyond their expected [[strikethrough]] $ [[/strikethrough]]

[[underline]] Sept 22. Sunday [/underline]] Spent all day from early till late trying to [[bring?]] some shape in [[red underline]] Hooker's book. Hageman has everything in rather chaotic condition instead of helping [[/red underline]] me he simply has invented more work.
[[note in margin]] [[symbol #]] 10 hours [[/note in margin]] I feel much disgusted at this job. and shall not employ him in future for such kind of work. Charge $50.00.

Sept. 23. Went to fetch Dr. Lehne at Astor Hotel at 12. He still complains of being upset - No wonder! Took lunch at Drug Club, showed him our samples, then motored to Perth Amboy over Staten Island. There met everybody inclusive Roessler who was old [[strikethrough]] companion [[/strikethrough]] fellow student of [[red underline]] Lehne. [[/red underline]] Home in New York when dark. Then supper at University Club then to [[Orion?]] where [[Saarbach?]] and friend were waiting, then to Astor Hotel then home arrived here after 1 P.M
Sept 24. Met McGean at Roessler-Hasslacher office by appointment, then at his request [[red underline]] Kirk Brown [[/red underline]] joined. The latter seems keen [[red underline]] deliberate shrewd [[/red underline]]
