On to Brown Mtn shelter - easy trail Thunderstorm came late at night I always sleep poorly in a shelter Because of the board deck - its hard I've always opposed floors in shelters The ground is softer and warmer. A hard climb from the shelter - no switchbacks Weather clear and breezy, after storm Long Hard climb - then side trail to Shelter Much too far, should have passed by Up to the grassy summit of Cold Mtn. Much like the balds farther south The horizon west is the alleghenies. Tar Jacket Ridge another open summit Designated a scenic area - safe from development
