Went up to town in evening to take train for Jackson. Reached Jackson at 10:30 & went to bed.

Couldnt tell which was University at Ann arbor. suppose I saw it
Ann arbor is a nice town.
Reached [[underlined]] Ditroit [[/underlined]] [[Detroit]] at 10 Crossed river on iron steamer - train ran on boat in two parts. Engine did not cross - 3 tracks on deck, each long enough for 4 passenger coaches or 3 vestabule coaches. Got off & road across on deck, crossed quickly, about 5 minutes.
River not very wide. So foggy could not see across.
