I am inclined to think there is great fault in said Stone on this account. I have been on to the mountains - named Lene & Sterne - & I do find that ^[[insertion]] the stones [[/insertion]] exposure to the atmosphere is followed by crumbling. On "Mount Cunningham" & stone near it I saw satisfactory proof that this is so. ^[[insertion]] Small [[/insertion]] mountains of stone that have crumbled off [[strikethrough]] the Main [[/strikethrough]] are to be seen lying at the bases of the main or principal ones.
The Winters' [[strikethrough]] Work [[/strikethrough]] are doing their levelling work - & doing it rapidly.
