Sept. 29. Home all morning. Afternoon to New York office. May does not seem much pleased with his new contract.  Thinks ought to have $5000 minimum Swan seems well pleased. Took supper at club Home with 8 [[superscript/underlined]] 45 [[/superscript/underlined]] P.M
Sept. 30 Left home about 10 [[superscript/underlined]]30[[/superscript/underlined]] AM with Celine.  Motored to Perth Amboy.  bought opera tickets and new tires.  Lunched on sandwiches in car.  Fine weather.  Inspected [[strikeout]] pla [[/strikeout]] the plant.  Things look much more orderly than ever before.  [[underline]] New Building going on. [[/underline]] lower part of walls

Being cast and tension members inserted.  Arrived home at about 8.P.M. Young Robinson there.  [[Underline]] George [[/underline]] was out with small Buick car gave him a strong reprimand for taking my car out without permission altho' he had agreed not to do so.
October 1.  Went to N.Y. office early for annual [[underline red]] meeting of stockholders [[/underline red]] and board of directors  [[underline red]] Mausolf [[/underline red]] elected as secretary in succession of Dubois. Hasslacher, Williams, Foersterling, Mausolff, Creevey [[underline red]] Dr. [[Buel?]] [[/underline red]] Hamman, Roessler present.
Lunch with May then walked to [[strikeout]] station [[/strikeout]] Hudson Terminal in pouring rain to take train for Washington. Read "Old Age Deferred" by Dr. Lorand.
