W., Atlee Burpee Co.
Philadephia._

Dear Sirs:-
To be a gardener, to watch plants grow and produce good results has always been a growing desire with me.
This year is my first real try out as a gardener. First I looked up, and read, all the Seed Firm advertisements I could find. I selected and sent for Burpee's Seed Book. It read- "Burpee's Seed grow." That seemed to me the first thing to look to. That statement has been proven to me to be more than true for not only did the seeds I received from Burpee Co., grow, but produced true and wonderful results.

Transcription Notes:
@siobhanleachman:- I've received a reply from TC via twitter @transcribesi about this issue. They say "YES put No./Date at top or bottom (sep from txt) - AAG wants this text searchable BUT we also want coherence of letter" wow you talk a lot. Thanks:-) @siobhanleachman:- again to my fellow #volunpeer, I respectfully disagree. I recognise we are being "nit-picky". But the instructions also state "use your best judgment". In a case such as this where the text is by one writer and the circled number and the date stamp is by another, I think it makes sense to seperate them. I know this is a small issue but I want the transcription to be of the best quality we, as a crowd, can reach. I've asked the TC for what they would prefer. Of course I will be happy to re edit should they agree with you. I just believe it makes more sense to seperate the two different writers. siobhan, please read the instructions. They request a mirror image @siobhanleachman:- edited to move both additions to letter by Burpee up to top of page.
