For years office, home and social contacts strangely failed to satisfy a primitive hunger for something closer to nature until a plot of garden soil taught me the truth of Bacon's wise words. Gardening can satisfy the age-old longing of man to create something orderly and material out of chaos and nothingness. A few years of experimenting taught me that sustained interest in gardening depends on practical results, and practical results hang on dependable seeds.
