What Burpee's Seeds have done for me
or
A Tribute to Burpee's Seeds That Grow:-

The Story of a little garden planted with them in 1913. Coming to Calgary where we were told "nothing would grow" we decided to have a garden I answered an adv. offering a collection of Sweet peas and received a catalog with other offers, so sent for more seeds We dug a piece of "original prairie" 25 x 30 ft and surounded it with 5ft chicken wire; outside of which we planted canary vine, inside 20pks of sweet peas, and so on untill we reached the Diamond of grass which we left in the centre. The 2[[superscript]]nd[[/superscript]] last row was pansies the last sweet Alyssum & Labelia, in all 43 varieties of flowers. The result was beautifull beyond expectations. A little chap of six said, do you know you have the prettiest [[underlined]] back yard [[/underlined]] I have ever seen.

I could no more describe the pleasure than I could number the flowers we obtained from our first Calgary garden of which I enclose a snap which will speak more elequently than I as to what can be obtained by planting Burpees
