Aunt's Cettic's baby was christened to-day at the American Church.  Maude is a sweet little thing with rather dark hair and large wide open blue eyes.  She is the image of Aunt Cettic, and will be very pretty when she grows older, I think.
We went to the Madeleine this afternoon.  I have always wanted to go but somehow never have.  It is really much finer, and more interesting than I expected.  The Marriage Chapel which is to the right as you go in is very fine.  The alter has the candle sticks, as all Catholic Churches have.  The lighted candles off the alter are sort of  sacrifices

made by people.  It is in the [[blank space]] style, and the columns which hold it up are perfectly enormous.  There were a good many people praying in the church, and most of them looked very sad, as though they had come there for rest.  The doors are beautiful representing scenes in the Bible.
I afterwards came home, and Mama called for me to drive in the Bois.  It was full of gay people, and I enjoyed the drive and especially the first part of the afternoon very much.
