44 May 29th. 1890. Thursday. I had to go to Marindaz to try on dresses. It took a good while, but still I had time to go to the Louvre afterwards. I bought a picture frame for Bill, and a fan for pictures for Madame. Baby wanted me to go to the Punch and Judy show with her in the Tuilleries, since she was so sweet I could not refuse. She enjoyed it immensely, and I did because I was with her. I afterwards went to the Palais Royal which is an arcade with hardly any stores but jewelers. It is rather tiresome at the end, for most of them have the [[end page]] [[start page]] 45 same, or about the same things. The arcade formes a square and in the center is is a garden where the children can play. The weather has really been very fine since we have been here, it has only rained several times. May 30th 1890 Friday To-day after lessons I had a real "jim" time (don't be shocked) I did not much like the idea of going to the Louvre. I thought it would be stupid for me, but indeed it wasn't; so far from that, I enjoyed it very much.
