May 29th. 1890. Thursday.
I had to go to Marindaz to try on dresses.  It took a good while, but still I had time to go to the Louvre afterwards. I bought a picture frame for Bill, and a fan for pictures for Madame. Baby wanted me to go to the Punch and Judy show with her in the Tuilleries, since she was so sweet I could not refuse.  She enjoyed it immensely, and I did because I was with her.
I afterwards went to the Palais Royal which is an arcade with hardly any stores but jewelers.  It is rather tiresome at the end, for most of them have the

same, or about the same things.  The arcade formes a square and in the center is is a garden where the children can play.  The weather has really been very fine since we have been here, it has only rained several times.
May 30th 1890 Friday
To-day after lessons I had a real "jim" time (don't be shocked)  I did not much like the idea of going to the Louvre.  I thought it would be stupid for me, but indeed it wasn't;  so far from that, I enjoyed it very much.
