The Venus of Milo which stands in the center of one of the rooms, with no arms, and her beautiful sweet serious face, quite charmed me.  But nicer than this was the picture of "La Cruche Cassee" by Greuze.  It is of a girl with the broken pot on her arm.  The expression of her little mouth, and sad eyes is too sweet, and can never be copied by half.  The picture of Mrs. di Bruns and her little girl, painted by herself is also lovely.  The faces are both so sweet.  There were other pictures I liked too, but none so well as those two.

beautiful and largest diamond I have ever seen has a beautiful ceiling and is as a whole a very fine room.
This afternoon I spent  [[image - square with the word [[underlined]] diamond [[/underlined]] inside]]  at the Musee Grevin.  The figures though [[strikethrough]] a [[/strikethrough]] many less than those in London, are much better and more life like.  Downstairs are a good many scenes in the French revolution; some really frightful.  Men being killed, men dead and other dreadful things which really almost make you shiver.  They had a little performance of tricks at 4 o'clock which is quite refreshing after the horrors you have been seeing.
