June 19th. 1890 Thursday 
I went to lunch and drive with Cornelia Martin to-day and I must say I was rather frightened. I did not know Cornelia very well so of course that made it a little strange. 
Mrs Martin her mother Mrs Sherman and Miss Beckweth were at lunch so I did not enjoy that so much but afterwards Cornelia and I (and the maid) went out in the carriage and we did have a nice time. 
First we went to Madame Toussaud. It is not nearly so good as the Musee Grevin, but there are

a great many more figures. Almost all the kings of England are there, and it gives you a very good idea of how they looked and dressed in those times. 
The Chamber of Horrors is not very bad, and does not impress its self on your mind as it does in Paris. The worst part I think are the pictures of the tortures they used to have. They seem to imprint themselves on my mind, so that when I think of them now I shiver.  
We saw the Coronation Carriage of Napoleon and as Cornelia likes him too we gazed at
