I went to get a book for Mama, and I thought I might be able to get it at the Army and Navy Stores, so we took a cab from Regent St. and went. We were almost there, and just turned the corner when a little man who was crossing the street, and just in front of the carriage seeing it so near gave a start ran a little forward, then thinking he had not time ran back, and slipped, fell - oh! I cannot tell how the wheel passed over his body and he was carried away. We got out asked where

he would be taken, and left in a state of mind not too agreeable. 
Of course I [strikethrough]] asked [[/strikethrough]] told Mama and Papa, and they sent Heslin around to see how he was.
