We had a cold sleep last night much interrupted. We got up at 6.45 a.m. and made things neat. Bill and I cooked breakfast of bacon and bread down on the beach and it tasted swell. The rest then had gone away. The day was fine and we went around in athletic shirts on top and got sunburned. Bill staid at our house for dinner and afterwards we went to camp. The tent poles were loose and Bill got mad at it much to the delight of Ralph Anthony close by. He went up to get Thomas the chauffeur to fix it and he would [[insertion]] not [[/insertion]] come down so he called him names. His mother stopped him from camping any longer so I took my junk home. Bill had a sore afternoon I bet. The end of the camp.

CHAPTER VII 3
I went up to Bill's house and unwound [[strikethrough]]ed[[/strikethrough]] cobwebs of string for fun. Later I went swimming at Warren Point with Lloyd and it was swell. We have half a bath house there. The water gets nearly warmer every day. In the afternoon Bill and I went swimming at Lloyd's beach. It was worse there because there [[strikethrough]] is [[/strikethrough]] was no diving. When we got through with that we played tennis at the Golf Club. We're both beginners so we played bum. However we played one set and I defeated him 6-2. After that we walked down to Sakonnet Point with Will and fooled around.
