I got up at 11.30 to-day. At 2.30 I went on my wheel for a ride with Pratt. We went to Montclair first and rode through the best resididential section there. From thence we rode to Passaic and started home. Half way home we saw a balloon drop over Nutley. When we had reached Nutley we had done up about 15 miles. There was a big crowd in front of Bodman's because the balloon had fallen into a weeping willow there. The aeronaut had green tights on and a bath robe. The balloon was tangled upon a large limb and a couple of men were up there freeing it. At last it came down and the men rolled it up, put it in a wagon and carried it back to Hillside Park where it came from. I didn't see the parachute.

Rainy day. I made a small wooden propellor and nailed to a piece of wood and set it on the handlebars of my wheel. It twirls around like a wheel when I ride when the wind makes it.
