[[preprinted]] 242 Thursday Aug 29 [[/preprinted]] 79 At about 4:15 P.M. in the morning Bill, Lloyd & I started on a camping trip for one night in Bill's tent by the Mcfadan's woods. We loaded [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] Lloyd's skiff with the baggage and [[strikethrough]] road [[/strikethrough]] rowed about a mile and a quarter up the river against a head sea and landed, pulling the boat up on the beach. We pitched the tent, made things ready and gathered some firewood. We made a fire in front of the tent and fried our supper - bacon, potatoes and bread. Later we went to bed and slept on the ground in the tent. During the night I woke up about fifteen times and it was cold. We made a fire and had a breakfast the same as last nights' supper plus bullion. Having finished we packed up the camp and stowed it in Lloyd's boat. We rowed [[strikethrough]] up [[/strikethrough]] home in a rough sea with us. Lloyd and I had a smooth swim at Warren's to-day
