In bushes back of chicken house saw what I thot was a [[underline]] house wren, [[/underline]] but instead it must have been a [[underline]] Carolina wren. [[/underline]] So dark I couldn't tell for sure.

Several [[underline]] hawks [[/underline]] today. Many [[underline]] wild-canaries [[/underline]]_

Seagulls screaming tonight. A flock of [[strikethrough]] about [[/strikethrough]] about 50 ducks went over, headed south, then east over the house & south again. Very low - sounded like strong wind - [[underline]] calling and quacking low [[/underline]] and clearly. One went "qugg, quag, quag" directly over house.

Whippoorwill singing tonight as every night, but only for a short while. [[end page]]

Yellow Palm Warbler - first labeled this a Nashville, but see now it couldn't have been.

Dark gold underbody; darker streaks on sides - greenish-gold lower back; [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] olive-green back and sides - red-brown crown - sang "sa-widdy - widdy - widdy," in a weak voice. Ate an insect. "walked" from limb to limb. Pumped tail.
