It has been quite a relief to hear of Burds safety as we had gloomy reports all day concerning our army.
[[underlined]] Friday 5.[[/underlined]] I painted the greater part of the day on N 81. assisted Charles in the Bank, numbered 400 notes &c.

[[underlined]] Monday 8th.[[/underlined]] This morning I packed up my paints and made preparations to leave Shamoken for home, and packed the trunk & pictures &c.
[[underlined]] Tuesday 9. [[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale and I left Shamoken at 8,oclock got to [[strikethrough]] Shamoken an [[/strikethrough]] Ashland and took the stage agan. and got to Potte. early, stopped at brother Georges and lodged, say our friends &c--
