[[underlined]] Friday 3.[[/underlined]] I painted all the afternoon on N. 80. in the morning I made a stretcher for it and nailed it on. Edward thrashed wheat today and cleaned it and took it to the mill. gathered some hops although it is late.

[[/underlined]] Louisia and I went to Church this morning, was very sorry to learn that Mrs. Lattimer and child are very ill. he appeared to be distressed but I didnot know the reason of it until after we left the church In the afternoon brother George and John Shippen came, and James Patterson and Matilda came and Emma went home with them.

[[underlined]] Monday 6.[[/underlined]] Burd, May, Burdee & Ellen (the nurse) went in the carrs as well as Burd, he only goes as far as Reading he then goes from there to Washington. Mrs Tatham and George went also t. Philadelphia at the same time.
I have been all day amongst the Plants preparing them for the house shifting and potting & trimming &c. Edward took his Mother to Potte. soon after breakfast he left her there and then went to the mines in the neighbourhood of St. Clair, engaged two loads of coal for Laggins.
I labelled nearly all the Dahlias preparitory to lifting them for the winter, gathered some seeds &c.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 7.[[/underlined]] I begun to fix Marys Green-room but the sun made it too hot to work. I assisted Edward in repairing the corn planter. he took it and the Iron plow &c to The Fair at Orwigsburg.
