[[underlined]] Monday 5. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 86. [[left margin note]] 2 hogs killed [[/margin note]] Edward had two large hogs killed and cut up  Mary went to Potte. this morning, dined at Mrs Levans and after dinner Sarah went up with her, she returned this evening about dark. Louesia went for Dr. Shannan to come to see Mrs. Wormcassil who is sick. 
Mary tells me that my nephew Rubens Patterson is very ill.
28°. calm clear. 49° calm s w clear 31°. calm a bank of clouds to the west.
[[underlined]] Tuesday 6. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 86. Mr. Wolf sat one hour this morning, he brought a letter from Mrs. Innis saying her brother Thomas Bealey died yesterday afternoon at 5 oclock and as [[strikethrough]] she [[/strikethrough]] Mary was desirous of being with her she went to S. H. with Mr. Wolf and then went up in the carrs. the funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 oclock. Miss Clements & Eddy Patterson came this morning & dined with us. Edwas has just got a Dog Power with a churn he also got a Platform scales to weigh his bailed Hay &c.- He had the meat packed this morning. This evening they are making sossage meat. Louesia spent the day at Orwigsburg.
It has been drizzling ever since 12 oclock, the roads are very muddy.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 7. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on a fruit piece commenced this morning N. 87. Representing Apples of large size, in a cut glass dish, with grapes &c.
This has been the most unpleasant day that we have had this winter, a strong northwest wind.

[[underlined]] Thursday 8. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 87. 
Edward went up to the City of Mocanoy this morning. 
Mrs. Peale and Louesia went this afternoon to S. Haven, Mary came down in the carrs to S. H. and she come home in the carriage with them. she says Rubens Patterson is better.
It commenced snowing about 5 oclock but not very hard. from the s west.

[[underlined]] Friday 9th. [[/underlined]] Mr. Wolf sat to Mary this morning and I painted all the afternoon on N. 87. Mary took Mr. Wolf to S. Haven [[strikethrough]] th [[/strikethrough]] after dinner, he dined with us. Edward returned from Mocanoy City this evening.
