[[underlined]] Saturday 10.[[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 87. It has been snowing gently all day and commenced to rain about dark.

[[underlined]] Sunday 11.[[/underlined]] Edward, Louesia & Mary went to church. and I spent the day in reading and attending to little matters I found much interesting matters in the life and letters of Washington Irving written by his brother Pierre Irving. I was also amused in reading Jeff Davis's speaches in the west. we have had no company today although it was fine & pleasant.

[[underlined]] Monday 12.[[/underlined]] Mr. W. Levan sat to Mary this morning I therefore didnot paint until the afternoon & finished No. 86.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 13. [[/underlined]] Mrs. Bast sat to Mary this morning I therefore painted in the afternoon on N. 87. Miss Sarah Levan brought Mrs. B. and several others  Edward has been all day up Long Run bailing Hay with all his men, returned after dark. 
Mrs. Peale, Mary & Fanny went to S. Haven this afternoon for the papers & letters &c.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 14. [[/underlined]] Mary had the studio cleaned today, therefore there was no painting going on. I made a stretcher for Charles Harmers head & stretched it. It has been drizzling all day.

[[underlined]] Thursday 15. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 87. I has been an unpleasat drizzling day.

[[underlined]] Friday 16. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 87 although the day was dark.
Our Man George's Cow drank the water left from making soap at this house, it swelled her up and she expressed much suffering and died this afternoon.  Mary and Louesia went to S. Haven, got the lamp left to have a new burner fixed, and it is an improvement on the old one, burning brighter.

[[underlined]] Saturday 17. [[/underlined]] Mr. Wolf sat to Mary this morning & dined with and Mary took him in the carriage to S. Haven I painted all the afternoon on N. 87.  Edward & George all day at bailing hay up Long Run.
