February 1863.      
[[underlined]] Monday 2d. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N 88. Louesia went in the carriage this morning to S Having to meet Harriet but she didnot come, Mary came in the Carrs and came home with her. and in the afternoon Mary went to the Landing thinking that Harriet might come there &c. but she didnot. Edward went up Long run & attending to hay early this morning and only just returned home, brought a letter from Harriet saying she would be at the Landing today but she was not there. The roads are still bery bad.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 3.[[/underlined.]] As Mr. Graef and Mr. Wolf sat to Mary this morning I didnot paint until after they went away. I then painted on N. 87. In the morning was engaged in saldering panns, buckets &c.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 4. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 88. Mary expected setters but they didnot come, perhaps in consequence of the cold, this has been the coldest day of the season

[[underlined]] Thursday 5th. [[/underlined]] Mary commenced a portrait of Edward. The day was so stormy that Miss Bast couldnot come to set and it was too dark for me to paint.
Edward is complaining of pain in the lower part of his back I therefore messmerised it which gave him some releaf. It has been snowing all day from the N. East wind high.

[[underlined]] Friday 6th. [[/underlined]] I made today a packing case for my pictur directed to Titian R. Peale, 256 G. Street, near Dugliss Greenham Washington. D.C. couldnot pack it as the varnish was not quite dry. Mary painted the drapery of Mr. Wolfs portrait and painted on her fruit piece.
Harriet came from Shamoken this afternoon Mr. Levan sent his man in the spring wagon with here here, it was quite a surprise to us, she didnot get her goods sent to Phila. until yesterday. [[underlined]] Brown St. 1621 Philadelphia.[[/underlined]] I operated on Edward this morning and is quite well this evening, he came over to supper. 
It rained very hard all night and took off much snow.

[[underlined]] Saturday 7. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 88. Mary Eliza Patterson & her friend Miss Campbell came this afternoon in carrs from Potte. & walked from the Landing.
