[[underlined]] Thursday 19. [[/underlined]] Mary had no sitter today had to clean up after last evening route, did not retire until one oclock. I painted the greater part of the day on N 86.

[[underlined]] Friday 20. [[/underlined]] Mr. Woolf sat to Mary this morning and I painted in the afternoon on N. [[86 ?]].  Mary went this afternoon to see Revd. Mr. Latimers family found them packing up to go to Phila. next tuesday. She went to Mr. Snyders & Levan's. Mrs. Peale, Edward Hubbley went with Edward to Potte. after breakfast, he left hir and E. H. got home near dusk. Mr. Wolf dined with us. May got letters today from Burd at Stafford Courthouse dated dated 17th instt. he had just got to Camp and resumed his position of Inspector.

[[underlined]] Saturday 21st.[[/underlined]] Miss Bast came on foot to set to Mary this morning dined with us and took a short sitting after dinner, Mary took her home accompanied by May, Burdy, Louisia & Fanny got home at dusk. I soldered a coffee pot & two canns for Mary. It has been a bright clear day with a refreshing n w brease.

[[underlined]] Sunday 22.[[/underlined]] This being the aniversary Washington birthday I intended going to church let the weather be what it may, but it turned out to be so stormy that it was impossible for me to turn out, I felt the more sorry as Revd. Mr. Lattimer was to give his fairwell sermon to the congrigation. It commenced snowing early this morning from the north east and increased until dusk and is still snowing 14°. n e snow. 13°. n e snow. 13°. n e snow, clouds [[?]] the moon nearly visible through it.
[[underlined]]Monday 23d.[[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N [[8?]]. Edward went this morning to Potte. in the sleigh expecting his mother to return with him. Mary painted in the morning on Burdes picture & set me after dinner to pare apples for her to preserve and soon after I began was called off to meet company in 3 or 4 sleighs. Dr. Shannan brought Mrs. Shannon & Mrs Lattimer & 2 children. Thomas Walker wife & son. Eddy Patterson brought his mother, Mrs. Peale and Malcom. Mr. & Mrs. Luther, they all left before night except my wife. Eddy Patterson met with an accident to his sleigh in turning short, broke the irons that connects the shalves to the sleigh. Edward soon returned home & went with
