[[underlined]] Tuesday 4th. [[/underlined]] I worked all the morning in the garden wed the Celery and small onions by that time it became too warm for me to work longer.
They mowed in the meadow and took in 2 loads of Hay. Mrs. Peale drove to S. Haven to bring Louisia, Mary, Clarra & Lydia Patterson, they saw the returned soldiers they had a repast near Mr. Levans this afternoon. a company of Artilery and one of Hose arrived in Potte. yesterday.

a heavey storm arose from the n w with thunder & lightning but it didnot reach here, we had no rain. 
[[underlined]] Wednesday 5th. [[/underlined]] I worked all the morning in the garden, hoed and dressed the cabbages bed and sowed Turnips on each side of the bed. 
Miss Louisia Hayse and the two Miss Blakes from Phila. (daughters of Mr. Blake the Music store in old times) came down from Potte. this afternoon. 
Mowing in the meadow with the machine and took in 2 Loads of Hay this afternoon Edd. had 2 loads pailed and took them to S. Haven this morning.

[[underlined]] Thursday 6. [[/underlined]] I worked the greatest part of the day in the garden, hoed and wed Mrs. Peales strawberry bed & other parts of the garden.
Edward had the oats in the small orchard cut and finished mowing in the meadow & took in 3 loads of Hay. Eddy, Jimmy & Malcom Patterson and Edward Lewis came down & dined with us. E.L. has just returned from the war he has been a prisoner in Richmond for nine days

[[underlined]] Friday 7. [[/underlined]] I worked the greater part of the day in the garden, finished Mrs. Peales strawberry bed filled up the deficiencies also of the cabbage bed &c. 
Took in 3 loads of Hay this afternoon.

[[underlined]] Saturday 8. [[/underlined]] I worked the greater part of the day in the garden and around the house. put a door to privey &c Mary, Lousia & Lydia Patterson (Dolly) went this morng to Potte.
Edward finished his Haying this evening took in 5 loads.
