[[underlined]] Tuesday 25. [[/underlined]] I worked all the morning in the garden. Miss S. Levan and Capn. Griffith (from Phila.) called. 
George finished plowing yesterday and begun to hawl manure but showers prevented his working, as well as myself I therefore peeled apples and covered a box with pieces of carpet for Mrs. P. and this evening preparing corn for drying.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 26.[[/underlined]] I have worked a good part of the day around the house, makeing the walk at the back door & cutting corn for drying &c. This afternoon Mrs. Peale, Harriet, Clarra & Albert went to Potte. & got home before night. They bring the inteligence that sumpter is taken & that Charleston is being shelled &c. George has been hawling manure all day into the small orchard where the oats was.

[[underlined]] Thursday 27.[[/underlined]] I have been too unwell to do much today. I tried to work but found it prudent to go in the house. Mrs. Peale, Harriet, Clara Albert & Fanny went this afternoon to S. H.
Burd, May, Burdie, the infant & nurse came this evening, Albert brought them from the Carrs, they appear to be all well.

[[underlined]] Friday 28.[[/underlined]] Burd went home this morning in the Carrs, Albert, May & Burdie went with him to the Landing. I have worked all day in the garden finished the Long bed of Strawberries filling up the dificiencies &c.

[[underlined]] Saturday 29.[[/underlined]] I have worked the greater part of the day in the garden & in cleaning the walks about the house. George finished manuring the small orchard and has been plowing it nearly all day.
We had quite a smart storm late this afternoon from the W.

[[underlined]] Sunday 30th.[[/underlined]] We have had no company today..it has been so cold that we all kipt house.

[[underlined]] Monday 31.[[/underlined]] I have worked all day in the garden. Edward and Louisia came home at noon today, quite well. Mary is still at the Beach.
