[[underlined]] Wednesday 18.[[/underlined]] I painted most of the day on N. 94. Edward sat to Mary this morning and finished his portrait. Edd. went to S. Haven this afternoon and brought home Louisia Fanny & his Mother, they came in the Carrs from Potte. As [[strikethrough]] it[[/strikethrough]] it rained this morning the carpenter didnot come. Geo. finished hawling the Ashland coal from the Landing and one of Edds. men has been breaking it up most of the day. 71 tons at $4. per ton from J. Patterson.

[[underlined]] Thursday 19. [[/underlined]] I painted the greater part of the day on N. 93. begun to clear up the lumber in front of the house assisted by Mrs. Peale. 
Mrs. Shannan sat to Mary this morning, and Mary went to S. H. with her and walked home to supper. Edward Hubley came this morning in the carr from Real, he and Edward went this afternoon below Aubern. The carpenter didnot come to day.

Geo. commenced plowing the meadow near the house for corn this morning and continued all day the ground rather wet
[[underlined]] Friday 20.[[/underlined]] I painted today about one half of the front porch and cleared up about the door. 
Mrs. Try took away a great deal of the lumber and then took up the celery and put it in the cellar.
The carpenter fixed the large & small gate in front and plastered around the chimney. put a small shank in the Feedroom door &c.
Mrs Bast sat to Mary and dined with us.
[[double underlined]] Leer [[/double underlined]] got in a tantram and left us this morning. Mr. Emerie's man brought from Mrs. Peales house in Potte. a load of bricks that were taken from the old paviment.

[[underlined]] Saturday 21st. [[/underlined]] The day has been so dark & rainy that I didnot attempt to paint. I therefore repaired all the windows in the house that required it. Mrs. Bast sat to Mary this morning & dined with us.
Edward is not very well today pain in his head and back. Dr. Shannen sent him some medicine this evening.
