April 18. 1863.
Mr. Wolf and Sarah Levan came this morning for an hour Edward has had George & a boy filling up & fixing the road opposite his house, widening the bridge of the road &c. Mrs. Try has finished the whitewashing here today. I put in several lights of glass & reputtyed same &c.

[[underlined]] Sunday 19th [[/underlined]] We have had no company today. Mary & Louisa went to Church. There was no service at St. James they then went to hear Revd. Mr. Wolf, but a stranger preached.
The day has been most delightfuly mild and calm.

[[underlined]] Monday 20.[[/underlined]] I worked all the morning in the garden dug the first righthand bed and planted Tom Thumb Peas and fixed the Strawberry vine in it. (1 Degrand)
Mary paid and settled with [[underlined]] Mary White [[/underlined]] and discharged her for misconduct.
Edward went this morning to Potte. retud. this evening. The boy Morris this morning was braking the clods of manure in the meadow below the garden. Mr. W. Levan sat to Mary this morning.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 21.[[/underlined]] Mr. Graeff sat to Mary this morning, Mrs. G came with him she is well pleased with it & so is he. I worked in the garden most of the day, trimming the Raspberries the ground too wet to work. Mary this evening has a sick headake.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 22.[[/underlined]] I worked in the garden all day, Miss Lewis went home at noon by the carrs, Mrs. [[?]] Snider and Amelia Pott spent the day with us. James Patterson, Matilda & Malcom, brought home Mrs. Peale just before dinner, we all dined with Edward, Coll. John Winecoop & Miss Halverstat. came on horseback this afternoon.
I had Mrs. Dongluck nearly all day to dig for me. and I raked after her. Got some seeds from [[strikethrough]] washn. by T.R. Peale who is in Potte.on business.[[/strikethrough]] T. Hubbley.

[[underlined]] Thursday 23.[[/underlined]] Mr. Levan sat to Mary this morning. and I worked all day in the garden, had Mrs. Donglog digging in the afternoon while I raked after her.
