[[underlined]] Tuesday 28th. [[/underlined]] I stuffed and mounted the sea gull, and worked the remainder of the day in the  garden, sowed Dwarf Marrowfat Pea, planted some Gladiolis's, upwright Cypress plants &c. some Rheubarb Plants in Louisias garden &c.
  Jacob Gangloff came at noon, to work for Edward commenced setting the posts for front pailings. Mooved the kitchen Stove, Dresser &c to the summer kitchen, mooved the parlour stove to the front room. Mrs. Donlock and Fry whitewashed cleaned & scrubbed the parlour, eating-room and summer kitchen &c. Louisia has been working in her garden the most of the day. Edward sent from S.H. a car load of bailed hay to Mrs. [[Hexher ?]] & Co. this morning @ . $20.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 29th. [[/underlined]] I went in buggy with Edward to Potte. soon after breakefast, stopped at many places where Edward had business in S. H. & in Potte. and got to James Pattersons in time for dinner, found Mrs. Peale well and also the children, they got a telegraph from Matilda at N. Haven all well. Got my new coat and Boots. When we got to [[strikethrough]] S.H. Miss Levan told us [[/strikethrough]] Potte. they told us that Mary had just left in the Carrs with Burdies portrait. Mary walked from S.H. and then worked in her flower bed with Mrs. Fry. all the afternoon.

[[underlined]] Thursday 30th. [[/underlined]] I have worked in the garden all day. Mrs. Fry howed the grass from the walks and dug for me. I completed the rows of the Albany Seedlings, made one row of the strawberries from Mrs. Mat's. Mrs. Dongloff worked all day in Marys flower garden.
Mr. Levan sat to Mary this morning, he and Sarah dined with us at Edwards.

[[double underlined]] Friday May 1st. 1863. [[/underlined]] I worked all day in the garden, cleaned several of the walks, trimmed the edges of the beds that are dug and planted, finished trimming the Raspberries & currants in the truck garden.
This afternoon Mrs. & Miss Shaeffer & Mrs. Whiton came to see Mary.
