I painted all the afternoon on N. 103 on the light grapes it has been a very oppressive day quite calm.

[[underlined]] Saturday 25.[[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N. 103. afternoon on N. 102. Mrs. Peale is much stronger today. The ground is very much parched for want of rain. Took in some hay today from Old Orchard

[[underlined]] Sunday 26. [[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale is still better today, she sat up a few minutes this afternoon. No visitors today
[[left margin note]] hot. [[/margin note]] I have suffered with the heat more than I recollect to have for several years past.

[[underlined]] Monday 27. [[/underlined]] I painted the most of the day on N. 102 and N. 103.
Mrs. Peale is much better today than she has been, she sat up this morning some time and walked across the chamber.
This afternoon Mr. & Mrs. Snyder and daughters and [[overwrites f]] the daughters of Geo. Potts called, Mrs. S went up to see Mrs. P. Mr. Snider went with me to see the mowing in the upper part of the Old Orchard, he was much pleased with the sight and thinks of getting one of woods mowers &c. Edward & Louesia were at S. Haven. They were much pleased with the pictures.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 28. [[/underlined]] This morning I cleaned out my studio and rearranged my pictures I didnot feel well enough to paint 
Mrs. Peale slept all night, but was very unwell all the morning, the Dr. called a second time and found her better and is now easy. she required Mary or I to be with her all the morning rubbing and anointing her.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 29.[[/underlined]] I painted the greater part of the day on N. 102, 103 & 104.
Mrs. Peale has not been so well today, much pain in her side.
Miss Sarah Levan and Miss [[left blank]] came this afternoon to see her.
